Research Project: JAMES

Java-based Agent Modeling Environment for Simulation

Abstract: JAMES has been the first implementation of a simulation framwork for the DynDEVS formalism.

  Research Project Information
Runtime: Feb 18, 2001 until Dec 31, 2004
Scientific staff: Dr.-Ing. Mathias Röhl; Dr.-Ing. Jan Himmelspach
Former student staff: Christian Ober

The relations between agents and simulation are manifold. Thereby agents are either being used as metaphors for modeling dynamic systems or agents are objects within the simulation. Further details about JAMES can be found on the german version of this page. Many ideas from this project have been reused in the CoSA project.

The framework James is no longer under development - in the context of the CoSA project James II has been created as a full replacement.
